When thinking of technology users, it would not be likely for the Baby Boomers to come to mind. The group is commonly stereotyped as clueless when it comes to new devices and services; however, this is a huge misconception. A recent study by Forrester Research revealed that Baby Boomers spend more on technology than any other generation, contributing 40% of the total money spent on it in the US. Consequently, their usage rates are high as well—according to Beth Snyder Bulik of AdAge, an overwhelming amount use email, cellphones, search engines, and social media sites. Bulik writes, “The key for marketers to reach boomers is not to dismiss technology as irrelevant to them, but rather to figure out what technology they prefer.”
